Professor Andrew T. Nappi retired from Illinois State University in August 2000. Dr. Nappi served as the Founding Director of the Katie Insurance School at Illinois State University since 1991.
Through Nappi's leadership, creativity, and vision, industry donations topped $4 million, over 70 insurance-related firms interviewed students on campus, and numerous executive education programs were developed, such as the London Market Study Tour.
Prior to his appointment with the Katie Insurance School, Professor Nappi came to the University as Dean of the College of Business in 1980, leading the college to undergraduate AACSB accreditation in 1981 and graduate accreditation in 1985. His teaching interests were in business education, insurance education, and personal insurance. He published articles in the Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of Economic Education, and Journal of Education for Business. He earned his doctorate at Ohio University.
