Eric graduated from the Katie School of Insurance at Illinois State University in 2004 as an honors student with degrees in Risk Management and Marketing. Eric served as the president of the Gamma Iota Sigma chapter at Illinois State University for the 2003-2004 term.
In 2006 he spent six weeks in London training at Lloyd’s of London and learning the London Insurance marketplace. Eric is an active member in the University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA). Eric Pan has been recognized by Risk and Insurance Magazine in the 02/17/2011 issue as a Power Broker in Education as well as one of the top Power Brokers Under 40.
Eric's expertise includes being a Property & Casualty Broker within Arthur J. Gallagher’s Higher Education Practice Group, specializing in the analysis of the unique exposures and risks that colleges and universities face. Eric is a manager of the Higher Education Practice in Chicago and is responsible for leading the division’s efforts to service, retain, and expand its client footprint. His day-to-day activities include assisting clients in managing the myriad of risk issues facing colleges and universities. He is knowledgeable in the program design, structure, and implementation of insurance products including Pooling, Group Purchase Programs, Self-Insurance, Dividend Plans and Deductible Programs aimed at reducing an institution’s overall cost of risk. Currently, he works with numerous higher education institutions ranging in size from large public universities to small private colleges.
