Nat Pope

Dr. Pope's research has been published in some of the leading academic insurance journals, e.g. the Journal of Risk and Insurance, the Journal of Insurance Regulation, and The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance - Issues and Practice, among others. His research has traditionally focused on deregulation in the international insurance markets, with a special emphasis on the Japanese marketplace. His creativity in the classroom has been nationally recognized by the American Risk and Insurance Association (ARIA) by awarding him the Strickler Innovation in Instruction Award on two occasions (2003 and 2007).


In addition to his PhD and MS degrees in risk management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he also has an international MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and has worked abroad in Tokyo, Japan and Sydney, Australia. Other credentials include professional designations as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Commercial Property-Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
