Students must submit their application and financial aid form either by email to Debbie Babcock or turned in to the Katie School office in room 432 of the COB.

Angus Robinson Jr. Memorial Foundation

The Angus Robinson Jr. Memorial Foundation was founded in 1990 by those involved in the insurance industry who were friends and associates of the late Angus Robinson.

Scholarship awards of up to $5,000 per applicant will be made to qualified students who are enrolled in an insurance, risk management, or actuarial science four-year degree program.

 

Required Application Documents

  • A completed Scholarship Application and Financial Aid Form must be submitted along with Financial Aid and Academic Transcripts from your school
  • A 500-word (double-spaced typed) personal statement/essay on what the scholarship means to you, why you are interested in a career in the insurance industry, and what specific field within the industry you hope to pursue
  • Two references/recommendations from a professor or employer

 

Student Eligibility

All students considered for the Angus Robinson, Jr. Memorial Foundation Scholarship must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Maintain a "B" average in Secondary School with a minimum SAT combined math and verbal scores of 1050, or maintain a 2.75 grade point average based on a scale of 4.0 for each year of college level education
  • Maintain 12 credit hours of study per semester of college level education
  • Have a current "Needs Analysis" document on file with a financial aid officer

Recipients will be announced in early January.

 

Selection Process

Recipients will be selected by the Trustees of the Angus Robinson Jr. Memorial Foundation based on, but not limited to, the following criteria:

  • Relative degree of financial need
  • Cumulative GPA or SAT scores
  • Content of personal statement/essay
  • Strength of recommendations
  • Demonstrated commitment to the pursuit of a career in the insurance industry

 

Distribution of Funds

The Angus Robinson, Jr. Memorial Foundation will forward a co-payable check to be credited to the student’s University account. At the time of the distribution, verification will be made that the student is enrolled and in good academic standing. In the case of a student withdrawing from the University, the remaining scholarship monies must be returned to the Angus Robinson Jr. Memorial Foundation.
